Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) is the gateway course to become a teacher. As per details of the new education policy drafted, now One-Year-B.Ed-Course also will be offered for the aspirants who have completed their Master’s Degree. For graduate aspirants, the course will remain a Two-Year program as it has been offered as of now. Earlier the course tenure was the same for UG & PG aspirants but now PG candidates can save their one year in pursuing teaching courses.
Integrate-four-year-B.Ed-course has already been introduced by NCTE’s previous academic year. One needs to be 12th qualified with a minimum fifty percent score and can enroll in any stream out of BA-B.Ed / B.Com-B.Ed / B.Sc-B.Ed as per the interest of her teaching subject. This initiative has been taken to lure serious candidates towards the teaching profession. By now teaching was taken as a secondary career option after completing graduation if nothing happened primarily. After introducing an integrated program, teaching will be taken on priority and choice.
